A peculiar structural feature is that the bonds of the molecules forming isomaltulose (alpha(a)-1,6-glycosidic acid) are more stable than those of the molecules present in sucrose, so, interestingly, it is highly valued by sportsmen and women who want to maintain optimum performance, since blood glucose and insulin levels rise much less than in other sugars, making it a true carbohydrate of choice for performance purposes. This particular type of bond between its two components (fructose and glucose) is such that it slows down the rate of absorption. Subsequently, our intestinal disaccharidases, which are enzymes capable of breaking the molecular bond between the two sugars forming the disaccharide, will promote their subsequent absorption and bioavailability, proceeding much more slowly for isomaltulose than for other better-known disaccharide sugars, e.g. sucrose. As a result, blood glucose and insulin levels will rise much less and without fluctuation, widening the temporal extension of the glycaemic curve, making isomaltulose a slow-release energy source that can sustain the body during even very prolonged training sessions of sustained intensity without drops in performance due to hypoglycaemia or affected and compromised by unpleasant gastrointestinal disorders (frequent with the use of other simple sugars), with a sustained scientific literature in its favour as well as concrete positive evidence from athletes in the field.

L-Citrulline has entered the world of sports supplements with increasing popularity due to its benefits for athletes in aerobic and anaerobic sports. It performs important functions in the body as a key intermediate in the urea cycle, where it eliminates superfluous amino groups. The urea cycle is a cycle of biochemical reactions that produces urea from ammonia, which is 'toxic' to the body and whose accumulation hinders the formation of muscle glycogen and promotes the onset of fatigue. Once taken, β-alanine will be combined with L-histidine to synthesise a dipeptide which is the real player in the lactate 'buffer' effect, namely carnosine. Beta Alanine supplementation has been shown to raise carnosine levels in the muscles by 80%, and will act as a hydrogen ion neutralising agent, i.e. it will reduce the build-up of unpleasant lactic acid in the muscles, significantly reducing muscle fatigue, as well as being an excellent antioxidant against free radicals produced by exercise. Thus, in raising the osmotic pressure within the body fluids, glycerol for a certain period of time literally draws and retains a greater influx of water (up to its physiological metabolization) throughout the body as if it were a "pump" , effectively increasing its overall volume.
