Acidif® Plus is a nutritional supplement based on L-methionine, Hibiscus Sabdariffa extract (UTIROSE™ - Burgundy) and Boswellia leaf extract (AKBAMAX™) titrated 10% in acetyl keto beta boswellic acid (AKBA).

L-Methionine: belonging to the essential amino-acids, is a fundamental element for the human organism. This is the only essential amino-acid containing Sulphur: our organism in incapable of producing L-methionine and it needs to be supplied from external sources. L-methionine availability (in its capacity of Sulphur supplier) in acceptable quantities is a necessary condition for cysteine (a sulphured amino-acid) biosynthesis. A large number of Gram-negative bacteria is able to alkalise urines by the enzymatic degradation of urea, determining a favourable environment for them to proliferate. Maintaining a physiologic pH, obtained through L-methionine's action, helps creating adverse conditions to bacterial colonisation.

Hibiscus Sabdariffa: recent studies showed that UTIROSE™ (Hibiscus Sabdariffa extract titrated 40% in organic acids and 50% in Sambubiosides) has a significant effect on reducing e.Coli and Candida Albicans microbial contamination. In fact, the particular UTIROSE™ phyto complex, characterised by molecular components such as Sambubiosides, specific proanthocyanidins, and characteristic organic acids, was tested on the urinary tract. Results showed a 77% reduction on infections caused by microbial activity after just a week treatment.

Boswellia Serrata: international scientific literature affirms AKBAMAX™ Boswellia Serrata resin gum extract is able to inhibit some inflammatory mediators, in particular 5-lipoxygenase, with consequential decrease of leukotriene inflammation. By acting on this specific enzyme and not on the cyclooxygenases (COX1, COX2) responsible for prostaglandins synthesis, the titrated acetyl keto beta boswellic acid (AKBA) extract is considered one of the safest anti inflammatory products from a toxicologic point of view.

Acidif® Plus is available in slow-release tablets with gastro-protective coating. This optimises tolerability and grants a constant release of its components.
