LITHOS differentiates from all the other mineral supplements because of its alkaline nature. Being based on citrate – an alkaline salt - it is also helpful in supplementing a diet poor in alkaline values (fruit and vegetables) or in compensating a diet rich in animal proteins and fat which would determine an excessive acid load in the organism. If prolonged, this condition facilitates in fact the developing of several pathologies such as osteoporosis and renal kidney stones (kidney stones), which often start with a scarce number of citrates in urine. It is important to remember that citrate in urine represents one of the most important defences against the formation of kidney stones. Following these indications the GP could prescribe LITHOS also to supplement low levels of citrate and magnesium in urines, when suffering from kidney stones, or to correct urinary hyperacidity, when suffering from urinary kidney stones, in accordance to the relative international medical literature.

RECOMMENDATION: Unless advised otherwise by your GP, 2 tablets daily, preferably on an full stomach. Swallow the whole tablet with some water.

BOX: bottle containing 100 1280mg slow-release potassium and magnesium citrate tablets. Each 1280mg LITHOS tablet contains 7mEq of potassium (274mg), 3.5mEq of magnesium (43mg) and 10.5mEq of citrate, in a formulation which grants prolonged release. This allows to maintain constant levels of plasmatic magnesium, potassium, and urinary citrate.
