To fully exploit the benefits deriving from HMB the normal diet or supplementation of leucine turns out to be not sufficient, as our metabolism is not able to transform, if not in a small part, leucine into HMB. Considering that a dose of HMB must be about 3g a day, to reach the same quantities with leucine we should take 60g a day, a dosage not tolerable by the organism and very expensive in economic terms. This is therefore the main ratio that suggests its use whenever the need is felt in terms of growth or maintenance of muscle tone during the diet. Having said this, however, it is worthwhile to list the other peculiarities of this compound, properties that go beyond the factor relating to mass, let us see them:
