This new class of carbohydrate-based supplements, called "designer glucose polymers", highly branched cyclodextrins (HBCD), are a further evolution of the various carbohydrate products on the market.

HBCDs are a new type of glucose polymers which are formulated by the reaction between the waxy maize with a particular enzyme, forming a cyclic structure.
The result is a glucose polymer with ideal use properties: to be clear, an average molecular weight of 160,000 Da with very low osmolarity and therefore very fast gastric emptying.


Why use carbohydrates during workouts?

During intense and prolonged workouts over time, it is important that constant energy support is guaranteed, without glycemic peaks and related "drops" or disorders due to dehydration or gastrointestinal that can significantly compromise performance.

Widespread is the use by athletes of isotonic energy drinks which, however, often use ingredients that can be "heavy" or irritating to the gastriointestinal system, sometimes create a "roller coaster" effect on blood sugar or are not properly balanced on concentration and dilution of the elements.

What are the benefits of maltodextrins?

In a context of prolonged effort over time, among the various types of carbohydrate used, maltodextrins, Glucidex® quality, are a basic source that guarantees rapid support with constant energy release over time, guaranteeing a rather stable blood sugar. Maltodextrins are polymers deriving from the hydrolysis process of starches (corn) very well soluble in water, easily assimilated and, thanks to a much lower osmotic pressure than simple carbohydrates with low molecular weight (such as glucose), have a faster gastric emptying (with greater speed of absorption). Precisely for this reason, solutions of maltodextrin at high concentrations can be well tolerated without problems, without weighing down the gastrointestinal system and affecting performance, while many drinks based on glucose or other simple sugars could easily lead to gastrointestinal upset, fermentation, bloating, or worse, diarrhea. It is therefore evident that the so important advantages for athletes that derive from the intake of maltodextrin-based supplements, compared to other simple carbohydrates, are linked to the faster digestion and relative absorption times.

We recommend to always store in a cool, dry place away from heat sources and direct light.

Why is there no measuring cup inside the package?

We care about the health of our planet, we are starting a process of reducing plastic both from the packaging and from the accessories of our products.
