What is C500 con Rosa Canina?

C500 con Rosa Canina is a GMO-free powdered vitamin C (ascorbic acid), obtained from the natural fermentation of corn. A minimal amount is obtained from the fruits of the Rosa canina (rose hip) and the only excipient used is organic rice flour.
It is produced in accordance with high quality standards, without the use of allergens.


Use and mechanism of action

Like all vitamins, vitamin C is essential for human health. Since the body is unable to produce vitamin C, it must be obtained through diet.
A severe vitamin C deficiency, known as ‘scurvy’, manifests with bleeding gums, hair and tooth loss, impaired wound healing, widespread bruising, capillary fragility and bleeding, joint pain and muscle weakness.
The main function of vitamin C is the synthesis of collagen, an important structural component of the skin and skin appendages, tendons, cartilage and bones.
This also explains its key role in helping maintain blood vessel elasticity and correct microcirculation. Vitamin C also has antioxidant properties and supports immune defences.
