Vitamin C 90 tablets

Vitamin C is a high-dose vitamin C food supplement. Each tablet provides 1,000 mg of active ingredient. Vitamin C contributes to maintaining the normal function of the immune system during and after intense physical exertion (the beneficial effect is achieved with a daily intake of 200 mg in addition to the recommended daily intake of vitamin C).

Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, is a water-soluble compound similar to glucose.

Although fairly stable in acid solution, it is usually the least stable of vitamins and is very sensitive to light, heat and air, which stimulate the activity of oxidative enzymes.

One of its very important functions is to maintain collagen activity, a protein necessary for the formation of connective tissue in the skin, ligaments and bones. Vitamin C plays an important role in the healing of wounds and burns because it facilitates the formation of the connective tissue of the scar. The cells of the arterial wall need collagen to expand and contract with heartbeats; the capillaries also need it because they are more fragile. Another important property of vitamin C is its antioxidant properties, which among other things makes it useful as a food additive. This function takes place when vitamin C self-oxidates and then regenerates oxidised substances such as iron or copper back to their original form. In the course of this process, the harmful oxidising agent is removed. The vitamin and protects the iron in the intestine from oxidation.

Vitamin C has significant relationships with other nutrients. It contributes to the metabolism of certain amino acids, such as phenylalanine and tyrosine, which give off hormones. Vitamin C transforms inactive forms of folic acid into an active form of folinic acid and can play a significant role in calcium and iron metabolism. It also protects thiamine, riboflavin, folic acid, pantothenic acid, vitamin A and E from oxidation.

DIRECTIONS: take 1 tablet once a day with water or other favourite beverage.
