The cranberry (American cranberry) is a specific plant for the treatment of urinary infectious problems, which are called cystitis. Integration is useful both in the acute phase and to treat relapsing situations, which lead to chronic problems.

Cranberry prevents bacterial adhesion to the walls of the urinary tract, has a direct bactericidal action thanks to the hippuric acid naturally present in the fruit, and acts by acidifying the urine, which through diuresis disinfect the urinary tract and kill the bacteria present.

The process of acidification of the urine allows to treat any recurrence, it is therefore important to use it also as a preventive. Recent studies have seen the effectiveness of Cranberry in treating Helicobacter pylori, bacteria that adheres to the gastric epithelium and can produce gastritis and gastric ulcers (f).
