Yamamoto® Research Mirtillo The blueberry is a small wild shrub, common in the undergrowth where it grows between 900 and 1800 metres. Its fruits are small berries of spherical shape and bluish-black colour. These small fruits are particularly rich in anthocyanins, tannins, vitamin C and pectins, which give it numerous beneficial qualities and make it widely used in phytotherapy. According to the ORAC (Oxygen radical Absorbance Capacity) scale drawn up by the US Department of Agriculture, the blueberry ranks among the best sources of natural antioxidants available to us. The focus on this type of compounds is very high: they are able to counteract the signs of ageing, cardiovascular damage and free radicals, making them an essential ally in slow-age eating.
