Yamamoto® Research SAM-e SAM-e is a food supplement that provides 200 mg of SAM-e and 400 mg of betaine per daily dose.
S-Adenosylmethionine ("SAM-e") is an important compound produced by our organism, from the combination of the amino acid Methionine with adenosyl triphosphate (ATP), discovered in Italy in 1952, it is an extraordinarily interesting molecule and well studied in the literature in its different peculiarities and potentials. S-Adenosylmentionine is found in practically every cell of the human body, where it performs various fundamental biological functions, but is particularly concentrated in the brain and liver, where it is involved in over 40 biochemical reactions of our organism, such as in "methylation" reactions. , of critical importance for brain chemistry and detoxification reactions. It is one of the main donors of methyl in the synthesis of hormones, nucleic acids, Protein and phospholipids. SAM-e has become well known and used as a molecule necessary for the synthesis of neurotransmitters related to mood, such as norepinephrine, dopamine and serotonin, and plays a fundamental role in intracellular metabolic exchanges, and promotes physiological levels of acetylcholine, which helps to maintain cognitive functions and to counteract the neurodegeneration that occurs with or aging processes. It is also necessary in the synthesis of various components containing sulfur, such as the powerful antioxidant glutathione and of various components of the cartilage where it exerts an interesting beneficial action. Commonly used in the medical field a long time ago.
SAM-e has long been recognized in the clinical field also for its beneficial action on the liver, therefore not only an enhancing agent on mood, but also an interesting hepatoprotective molecule capable of counteracting liver damage caused by various toxic agents, such as alcohol, drugs, or pollutants. Thanks to this new formulation with the comfortable and practical stick pack, it is possible to quickly have the beneficial effects of SAM-e at any time of the day and to guarantee better absorption capacity.
