What is taurine and what is it used for?
Unlike other amino acids, Taurine is not incorporated within protein structures, but exists in the intra cellular space of certain tissues as an amino acid in free form and performs various functions. It is not classified as an essential amino acid, but taurine is the second most abundant amino acid in skeletal muscle and is found in other tissues in high concentrations where high energy levels are required. Taurine has several roles, it has anti-inflammatory and beneficial properties on the nervous system, it even helps to lower blood pressure.
