Creatine: Creatine, a high nitrogen content compound synthesized from precursors in the form of L-amino acids, is a key molecule of the energy storage cell systems. Cells use ATP (adenosine triphosphate) as a source of energy for all energy processes such as biochemical reactions and the action of the contractile fibers responsible for muscle strength. This fuel, however, ends quickly. The role and importance of creatine is due to the fact that it can provide a high-energy phosphate to reactivate ATP, which after the chemical reaction turns into ADP (adenosine diphosphate) plus P (phosphate). In other words, creatine gives its phosphate which has a high-energy bond to ADP and regenerates the ATP that is available again as an energy source.
