What is B3 100?

B3 100 is a vitamin B3, or niacin, B-group vitamin supplement . It is highly stable and is not sensitive to oxygen, heat and light.
The term niacin (or vitamin PP, Pellagra-Preventing, or vitamin B3) refers to two 
molecules that are similar to each other: nicotinic acid (niacin proper) and the amide of 
the latter, nicotinamide (or niacinamide).

The niacin in B3 100 takes the form of nicotinic acid (known for its ability to reduce cholesterol), but is not to be confused with niacinamide or nicotinamide, which are two other less active forms with respect to nicotinic acid.
It is produced in accordance with high quality standards.
It is allergen-free and not GMO.

Use and mechanism of action

Niacin was discovered when researching the cause of pellagra. This condition is characterised by the ” 3Ds”, which stands for: diarrhoea, dermatitis and dementia.
The skin “forms scales”, intellectual function is compromised until the onset of confusion and dementia and changes to the mucous membrane that lines the gastrointestinal tract result in diarrhea.

Niacin is therefore important for healthy mucous membranes throughout the gastrointestinal tract and for our skin. Many studies for example confirm its possible use in treating acne.

Niacin also contributes to our body’s normal energy metabolism, carrying out an effective toning action that eliminates sensations of fatigue and extreme fatigue. It is also involved in all nervous system and psychological functions.

Some research studies have, on the other hand, highlighted niacin’s involvement in maintaining normal blood cholesterol and blood sugar levels. It is linked to those processes that are responsible for the synthesis of the sex hormones.

Niacin is absorbed in the intestine and stored mainly in the liver.
Any excess amount is excreted through urine.
Excessive consumption of sugar and starches depletes the amount of niacin in the body, as does taking certain antibiotics. There are many symptoms of niacin deficiency.
Muscle weakness, general tiredness, loss of appetite, poor digestion and various skin rashes manifest in the first stages of deficiency.
