Containing L-arginine in a highly bioavailable form of - alpha-ketoglutarate (AKG), formed by the coupling of L-arginine with alpha-ketoglutarate - an intermediate metabolite of the Krebs cycle - the metabolic pathway leading to the manufacture of energy substrate for working muscles - ATP molecules.

L-arginine is an endogenous amino acid naturally produced by the human body. L-arginine in the body is involved in many metabolic processes, it is used, among others, in the synthesis of creatine and nitric oxide (NO). Nitric oxide causes the increase of blood vessels lumen by relaxing smooth muscles and reduction of the "viscosity" of vascular wall, thereby increasing the supply of oxygen and nutrients to the working muscles.
During hard physical training, the natural production of L-arginine may be insufficient and should be supplemented from outside, because this amino acid supplementation is recommended for people exercising recreationally and professional athletes.
