Yamamoto® Research Colostro Bio The "first milk", or "colostrum", is a thick, yellowish liquid produced by the mother's breasts of all mammals before the milk comes about three days after birth. Colostrum is a precious liquid considerably more enriched than mother's milk, much richer in peptides and bioactive fractions with the only immunological Energy for the newborn including an equally high concentration of growth factors. Colostrum is the first "food" to enter the gastrointestinal tract of a newborn, and is believed to be extremely important for stimulating the development of immune function and the intestinal barrier by controlling the expression levels of early and late inflammatory genes following invasion of enteric pathogens, thus providing the first "weapons"
Given its bioactivity, there has been a lot of interest for several years about the potential use of bovine colostrum in the form of a dietary supplement to improve human health. Like human colostrum, bovine colostrum contains a concentrate of highly nutritious substances and highly bioactive peptic fractions including a pool of antibodies or lactoferrin or immunoglobulins that enhance the immune system. Unlike many other products, our colostrum is not pasteurised (heated). It is produced in the elaborate cold production process. All ingredients are retained. This process is a purely physical process (special filter) in which no chemicals are used. Bovine colostrum is a food generally defined as very well tolerated, but it is not recommended to take it in case of lactose intolerance and in the presence of other allergies towards other elements of cow's milk.
